Dr. C. Thomas Haytmanek and Dr. Jonathan Backus from The Steadman Clinic’s Foot and Ankle Sports Medicine team recently partnered with Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) to provide health screenings for 76 young athletes. The event offered an opportunity for athletes, families, and community members to engage directly with these two expert physicians dedicated to keeping skiers and snowboarders healthy and active.
Their expertise ensures that local athletes receive the highest-quality medical evaluations designed to prevent injuries and support long-term performance. “We’re proud to support the next generation of skiers and snowboarders,” said Dr. Haytmanek. “Events like this allow us to connect with families and help athletes stay strong and safe throughout the season.”
Families praised the screenings and expressed gratitude for the Steadman Clinic’s commitment to athlete health and community wellness. This collaboration highlights the Clinic’s mission to deliver world-class orthopedic and sports medicine care right here in the Vail Valley.
About SSCV: The Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) Olympic program is not a single, official program but rather a system for developing athletes capable of reaching the Olympics. SSCV operates as a key feeder club for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard team, the national governing body that manages the official Olympic team.
