Dr. Backus was elected to the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Foundation Board

The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, (AOFAS) elected Dr. Jonathan Backus to their foundation board.

The mission of the AOFAS foundation is to actively advance the AOFAS mission by promoting and funding education, research, social impact, and humanitarian endeavors. Their vision is to ensure the long-term financial stability and success of the AOFAS mission and core values. and their core values are as follows:

Dr. Backus will support their strategy through the foundation by supporting core programs and endowment growth through proactive engagement of AOFAS members, key stakeholders, and other potential outside sources.

His 2-year term begins in September 2024.

Dr. Backus also becomes specialty content editor for Foot and Ankle International, the flagship journal of AOFAS

Established in 1980, Foot & Ankle International (FAI) is the flagship journal of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS), published monthly to lead the discourse in foot and ankle scholarship. FAI is committed to advancing medical knowledge in this field, focusing on a wide array of patient ages and conditions.
