Unlike the Achilles tendon, it is uncommon for the posterior tibial tendon to not undergo acute rupture. This case report studies two young, athletic patients who had operative treatment of a posterior tibial tendon tear. Breaking-down the surgical exploration and treatment, this study also discusses the approach used to treat posterior tibial tendon injuries in athletes.
